Product editor: the complete record for everything you sell
Name, price, recipe, allergens, photos, tax, one screen for your entire catalogue.
Every dish, package, equipment item, or service lives here. Edit pricing, attach ingredient lists, flag allergens, assign tax rates, upload images, and configure delivery rules. When you add a product to an order, it saves automatically for reuse. Modify price or description on individual orders without altering the master record.
- Complete product definition: name, description, price, tax rate, allergens, diets, photos, packaging, and ingredient recipe in one interface.
- Ingredient lists with quantities that auto-scale when you add the product to orders or link it as a sub-recipe.
- Allergen and diet flags as checkboxes, select gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, or any custom diet tag and see them in quotes and the webshop.
- Tax rate picker with the option to create new rates on the fly; manage all rates in a side panel without leaving the editor.
- Photo uploader and linked-materials panel for equipment that accompanies the dish (chafing dishes, cutlery, etc.).
- Order-context editing: modify price or description for one order without touching the master catalogue record.
You open the product editor from your catalogue or by clicking a product line in an order. The top section holds name, description, and pricing. Below that, you choose whether this is a food item, a package, equipment, or another category. Tax assignment sits alongside, pick from your configured rates or define new ones on the spot.
The recipe panel lists every ingredient with its quantity. These amounts scale automatically when you adjust portion counts or link sub-recipes. Allergen and diet tags appear as checkboxes; tick the relevant boxes and they flow through to quotes and webshop listings. Photo upload lives in a dedicated card, drag images in and they display on customer-facing documents.
Linked materials (equipment that travels with the product), production settings (prep time, shelf life), and portion variations all occupy collapsible cards. Show only what you need; hide the rest. If you are editing a product from within an order, changes you make here apply to that order alone unless you choose to update the master catalogue entry. The editor warns you when a field is locked because it would disrupt existing orders.
Who benefits
Business owner
You control the master list of what you sell. Add a product once, reuse it across orders, and update pricing or recipes whenever your costs change.
Sales / account manager
Pull up a product mid-quote to check allergens or adjust the price for a specific customer. Changes save instantly and flow into the order you are building.
Kitchen manager
See the full ingredient list and prep instructions. Edit quantities or add notes about shelf life and storage so your team knows exactly what to make.
Chef
Review recipes, flag allergens, and attach production notes. When sales adds the dish to an order, your prep list pulls the correct quantities automatically.
Accounting
Assign tax rates per product and verify that invoices reflect the right percentage. Create new tax rates in the editor when regulation changes.
